Release Date: TBD

The book is a collection of letters that I have written to my son over the years. My main objective in writing the book was multiple. First, I wanted to make sure that should I not live long enough to see my son reach his full potential as a man that he had a record of how much I loved him and how much he meant to me. Second, I wanted to make sure that I left him a manual that might provide some insight on how to become a man without the assistance of his father and mentor. Third, I wanted to leave my son with a written record of the lessons that I tried to teach him that he could take with him whenever he was on his own so that he would not have to rely solely on memory which is often impacted and overshadowed by the inflection of a parent’s voice and not the content of the message.

The book differs in that as African American father despite an often times toxic and broken relationship with my own father, I pledged to do what so few fathers have done, strive purposely to be a better man and father for my son which included chronicling my love, hopes, dreams, commitment and directions for becoming a man.
